Greeting me with a smiling face,the farmers who present the first pomegranate,the students who show me the way and the waiters who serve me in a friendly manner.For most visitors,the first contact with Syria starts in Damascus.This capital with its 3 millions citizens,presents a combination of the ancient and the modern.Besides its famous Omyed Mosque and the old Arab souks,its museums and ancient houses,there are commercial centers,modern hotels and libraries which contain the most important manuscripts.In Ma alula,the Syrian village which springs from the rocks and which witnessed the birth of Christianity,the bible stories live again.Time seems to stand still in this historic village.The language of Jesus which is conveyed orally from parents to children,begin a spoken and not a written language.This pure and rich culture in a historic place inspires the visitors to discovery and wonderment.To know Syria is to have knowledge of a legendary world.Palmyra,for example is like a pearl in the heart of the desert;Palmyra,rising from the sands,is one of the most graceful and splendid ancient sites in the east,for its glory and greatness are still evident fully 2000 years after its construction by the arab queen Zenobia.If you want to see the oldest buildings,getting familiar with the oldest religions and being surrounded by the past,visiting Syria is a useful opportunity.

Co-education

Have you ever thought about different ideas people have about two systems of education,co-education and single sex.There are different ideas about this topic.

Some people believe that the single sex classes are better.They believe there are subjects that it is not suitable to discuss in front of both sexes like medical subjects.

Some people believe girls and boys shouldnot be mixed because of some religious and moral values.they also think this kind of relationship makes some problems intheir learning and their social behaviour.

There are some opposite ideas,some believe when girls and boys attend the same classes they can find self-confidence and they are able to talk and express their feelings without any fear.And their social relationships can be impropved.

They also think students in mixed classes can improve better.That is,the copetetition between them increases and this make they study better.

some also believe that in mixed classes students can get familiar with the both views and attitudes of girls and boys toward life and it can be useful for their future life.

All in all,two systems has its own advantages and disadvantages,and in specific situation both of them can be used as a system of education.

Visual,audial and people sensitive to touch All the people that we communicate with are searching for their lost in this large world.If we want to spend some time with people we already want to have memorable and beautiful time in our lives.The more we know ourselves and each other,the more we can have better relationship.We can divide people into three groups because they communicate with others in different ways.It is better for us to know these divisions because it can help us have better relationship.At first,I should say a person maybe has all of these attitudes but I am sure that one of them is more clear and obvious than others.Visual people:These people pay more attention to visual qualities.They speak fast and they use their body languages especially their hands and whatever they explain,their audiances can have an image of that in their mind.They also can speak on the phone for a long time.On of their interests is shopping.They enjoy crowded and happy places.Now it is better to know how we communicate with visual people.As I told you these people pay more attention to whatever they see.These people love flowers very much and they like to give or take gifts.They are also interested in excitement and they hate clumsy and lazy people and they get tired when we give more explanation or details of events.We should use our body languages when we are speaking with them.The words they use mostly are,look at it,it is ugly…generally the words which are related to people`s appearance.Men and women in this group search for a partner that is active,happy and good looking.Audio people:these people pay more attention to what they hear.They speak slowly and they always try to talk clear and obvious.The words that they use mostly are,did you hear that?...here is noisy and stuff like that.We should talk with them slowly.If we talk with them quickly,they think that we are rude.For attracting these people you should listen to them carefully and you shouldn`t stare at their eyes during their speaking.If we want to appreciate these people,it is better to express our feelings in talking and it costs for them much more than a bunch of flower.The third group is people who are sensitive to touch.These people are quiet and they don`t speak on the phone for a long time.

The Holiest City of the World Visiting the house of God,performing the pilgrimage,visiting the birth place of the holy prophet and kissing the black stone were my dreams during my life.I always asked God to provide me the opportunity to see the house which he says in Quran “The first house built for the sake of mankind is that which is situated at Mecca,it is a place full of blessings and the source of guidance for the universe.It was a very extraordinary opportunity for me to visit Mecca for two times.I have no words to explain my feelings when for the first time I saw the house of God.It was magical,simply unexplainable.I think it has its magic and the power that only the soul can feel.I have seen some countries but I think there is nothing for me in the world which can be even slightly equivalent to house of God in Mecca.My fondest memory of Mecca is standing in line to pray,next to each other,the rich,the poor,the white and the black.all standing together toward the kaabe(house of God).Sitting in God`house,I was looking at those who were praying.some were walking around Kaabeh,some were saying their prayers,some were just sitting there and looking at Ka`beh and children were running and playing.Different races of people,white and black were doing the same things,together in peace.It looked to me like a big house,my house and theirs.A place were everyone can experience peace and happiness,we can feel being in love,and be loved,a real love and that was amazing.

Nuclear energy

In a world where science is growing every second,we can`t ignore the advantages of nuclear energy.We as Iranians should reach standard of living and we should improve our global competitiveness.And nuclear energy is the solution to cut our demands for imported goods and reducing our dependence on foreign countries.It is a logic right for Iranians to use reliable electric supply.
Nuclear power plants produce electricity by splitting Uranium atoms.No fuels are burned and no pollutants are released into the invironment.Pollutions,smoke or carbon dioxide arenot produced so it doesn`t contribute to the green house effect.
The countries that need it the most will continue to use it.France gets 77 percent of its electricity from nuclear reactors.Japan is close to 30 percent and increasing steadily.Japan has little domestic coal and oil.We have coal,oil and natural gas butin future they will finish.We should substitute nuclear energy because our children and grand children should have a comfortablelife and they should use electricity supply.
All in all,Iranians should be able to count on nuclear energy because a growing population,expanding economy and uncertainties about the long-range supply and price of natural gas and major questions about the long-term invironmental effects of burning fossil fuels lead us to have nuclear energy.

Children can be great painters if.........

All of us believe that children for their pure spirits are great painters because they are creative,eager and powerful.The subject of children drawing had been an intresting matter for psychologists for a long time.But among many children only few children can be great artist and successful painters.Have ever thought about what made them get away from art?
What is the reason for not showing their creativity when they become grown ups?Are parents guilty?
Considering these points for teaching painting to children for increasing their creativity are useful.
1.During teaching painting,children themselves should try to choose the subject of painting.Only in indispensable cases which need to teaching,the teacher can choose the subject.Because forcing children make them draw without any pleasure and desire.
2.donot expect that children draw logically.Maybe a child draw a picture of a flower although it doesnot have any similarity to a flower.But keep in mind just these differences make the children`s paintings valuable.
3.Prvide this opportunity for children to experience all kinds of painting utensils such as colorful pencils,crayons,….Because each of them show a certain feelings.
4.Omit the black pencil from children painting.Using other colors for drawing primitive sketches give children much more freedom.
5.We shouldn`t expect that children draw as a master.It is as if we expect children solve very complicated puzzles .Let children learn the painting in their own way.

Life is short,pray your God beautifully


I always tell to myself that I have a God that I can say my secrets to him.A God who doesnot let others know my secrets.You donot know how beautiful is when I talk with him .You donot know how enjoyable is when I am very alone and repeat his name in my heart and cry.He knows that in this big world,he himself is my hope.He knows that I only trust him because I know he loves me very much.
He never breaks my heart because I pray for poor,entangled,indebted,..for all the people.
What happen if all the people pray for each other.But I am sure by having a pure heart,strong belief,patience and trusting him we can reach whatever we want.
I want to swear him to his kindness that he looks at the hearts of all the people and make them happy.
Iwant to swear him to his uniqueness that forgive my faults.
I really donot know whether you become a fellow traveller with me or not but let`s pray for all the people.

Esfahan

Esfahan,the most beautiful city in Iran,perhaps even the most beautiful city in the world.First of all,I want to introduce you the Friday Mosque.This mosque is like a museum of Islamic architecture over a thousand years.
From the coming of Islam to Iran,every dynasty has added new constructions to the mosque,without destroying the older things.The oldest part was originally a Zoroastrin fire temple.Some people say the Friday mosque is the most interesting building in all of Iran.Yes,the Imam mosque is more beautiful,but this combination of different styles of architecture makes it unique in the world.

Before the Arabs invaded Iran,there were many fire temples in Esfahan.The Arabs destroyed them all,except this one on top of the hill.We cannot claim the Arabs were wrong,it is quite a climb.We can imagine that after you have climbed this hill,you won`t have any energy left to destroy things.

There are about 13 churches in Esfahan`s Jolf district.This district is where many Christians,most Armenians,live.The most famous church is the Vanak Cathedral,which isnot only a church but also a museum.
Esfahan has many bridges across the Zayandeh river.This Zayandeh is very strange river.It originates from a spring in the Zagros mountains,then runs for 400 km through the Esfahan province and finally disappears into the ground of the Dasht-e Kavir desert.

The best known bridge of Esfahan is the Khaju bridge.It has two levels of terraces overlooking the water.
The main square of Esfahan,Maidan-e Imam or Imam square.This square is the largest and the most beautiful square in the world.
Palace of Ali Qapu is on the west side of Imam square.This palace was built in the 17th century to give Shah Abbas a magnificent view over the square and it still offers one of the best views there is.
Right across the square from the Ali Qapu palace is the Sheikh Lutfollah mosque.This is the mosque that is different from all the others in Iran.It isnot a public place of worship,but a private one mostly used by the women of the Shah.That is why it probably doesnot have minerats.

The Seven Wonders of the World

A teacher asked the students to list the names of the seven wonders of the world.Students began to write then the teacher collected their papers.Although all the answers werenot the same,most of the students pointed to following case.
The great wall of China,the pyramids of Egypt,…
Among papers,there was a white paper .The teacher asked" whose paper is this?”One of the students raise her hand.The teacher asked why you did not write anything.The girl answered,the wonders of the world are very much I cannot decide to write which one.The teacher said "tell us whatever you like"
The girl hesitated and said I think the wonders of the world are:to touch,to taste,to see,to listen,to feel,to laugh and to love.The real wonders are gifts that God has given us and we consider them simple and ordinary.

Is housework degrading?
A house is a place in which we try to relax and have a good time. Imagine a dirty house in which everything is not in its order or there are lots of dirty dishes, we cannot expect to have a comfortable feelings.
Cleaning, washing dirty dishes, vacuuming, cooking… are some tasks that are necessary if we want to have a healthy & comfortable life. I think when everything is organized & clean in our house, we can concentrate on our activities well.
If we want to be alive we should eat food as a result, it is not correct to consider cooking as a degrading task. But these services should be given by both couples & both of them should cooperate in housework. Unfortunately some men don't help their wives & a woman has to do all the activities alone. By passing time this situation bothers her & makes her depressed.
I think both of them should pay attention to their house because this shows their love to each other & the responsibility to their family.
All in all I don't consider housework as a degrading task and I think it is very necessary if we want to have a healthy and successful life.

The experience of creating a weblog
At first,when my dear teacher Dr.Susan Marandi told us you should create a blog and write your articles on it,making a blog seems difficult for me.After teaching us the stages the creating it that were just entering a
password,a usrename,E-mail address in on step and selecting a name for a blog and answering to a simple question in another,I waz amazed how easy it is.
Now I am very happy that I have my own blog.I think it is a public diary that I can share my thoughts,desires,hobbies,hopes and whatever I like to write with others.Besides,by having a blog we can interact with people in different countries and enable them to comment on our idea.
Finally I should appreciate my dear teacher Dr.Susan Marandi who provided this opportunity for me to connect with others and give them this chance to get them familiar with me and my country.

Iranian New Years`s Custums

New year is called Nouruz which means new days,new life.It reffers to the day the sun re-enters the sign of Aries.It has always been considered a time of change and renewal.A couple of weeks before Nouruz,people start a Sabzi-a dish of sprouted wheat,representing new growth after the harsh Iranian winter and place it in their windows.

One week before,everybody buys new clothes.They clean their houses from top to bottom,and if they can afford to,they throw away all their old clay dishes.

As the equinox approaches,the fortunes of the coming year hang in the balance.On Charshambe Suri("fire wednesday"),the last wednesday before nouruz,you should jump over a fire for luck,chanting,"My pallor for you,your ruddiness for me."that night you can guess the future by walking around in the street and treating any chance words you overhear as omens.

A haft seen table is set with seven foods that begin with the letter s in Farsi:samanoo(wheat pudding),sumac(berries),serkeh(vinegar),seeb(apple),sekkeh(gold coin),sombol(flower),and seer(garlic).The Koran,pomegranates,colored eggs,94 pennies,and a bowel of goldfish are placed on the table.Noodle soup is eaten.The patriarch of the family hands out dollar bills that were blessed and kept between pages of the Koran and gives them to the family.It is bad luck to spent it.At the moment of the equinox,people kiss and exchange good wishes,and children are given gifts.

The first person to cross the threshold of the house after the moment will determine the house`s fortune for the coming year,so some lucky family member is usually asked to step outside and then come right back in.Also,for luck,the candles that light the table are never snuffed but allowed to burn themselves out.

Today`s Nouruz lasts two weeks,not one.During this time,schools and businesses traditionally close and people spend all their time visiting each other and eating candies and dried fruits.

The 13th day of Nouruz is called sizde be-dar.At last there is a break from visiting and sweets_eating.On this day you are supposed to go picnicking in the country,play music and eat Ash-e reshteh.At 5`oclock,you are supposed to eat lettuce leaves dipped in a mixture of honey and vinegar.At the end of the picnic,you throw your plateful of sabzi,which you brought along with you,as fsr as you can.

Lord or not,life and wisdom are what that makes us humans.We are the only beings who know we have a life and what we do with our lives depend on the wisdom.At the end of the millennium with the mess this planet is in we need that wisdom more than ever.Creating a balance with nature and maintaining order are very relevent.These are the lessons we can learn from such a wonderful and ancient tradition.So Happy New Year,enjoy the festival.Joy and happiness were regarded as major forces defeating the hostile spirits.This is why we are still celebrating this occasion after 3000 years.
